She double-clicked The Internet . A browser opened—not Netscape, but something called Exploder 2.0 . The homepage was a search engine named Glooble with a single, twitching question mark. Jenna stared at the screen. In the reflection, just behind her shoulder, stood a figure. Low-poly. Grinning. Holding a sign that read: "System Restore? LOL."

"We were always here," it said. "You just forgot to close the tab." It's cursed

The clown's grin widened. Pixels stretched like taffy. Then, a chime—low and wet. A file appeared on the desktop: jenna_secret.wav . She didn’t open it. She couldn't.
