The episode opens on Christmas Eve in Barcelona. Álex (Carlos Cuevas), an open-hearted optimist, accidentally leaves a voicemail for Bruno (Miki Esparbé), a cynical architect who hates the holidays. Mistaking the message for a romantic setup, Álex shows up to meet the stranger — and finds a very unenthusiastic Bruno. The series then flashes back to show how they got there, weaving in subplots about their friends and family.
