The story follows Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens), now a teenager living in hiding with her father, Harry (Sean Bean). Shot in 2D and converted to 3D in post-production, the film’s visual effects are distractingly artificial. The Otherworld’s transition—once achieved with practical rust, wire, and makeup—relies on digital particle effects. The final confrontation with the “Red Nurse” (an original creation) involves wire-fu acrobatics and a bizarre carnival-mirror dimension.
