Driver Plds Dvd -rw: Du-8a5lh
Do I need a specific driver for PLDS DU-8A5LH on Windows 10, or is the Microsoft driver the only option? If so, how do I force a clean reinstall of the native CD-ROM driver?
My PLDS DVD-RW DU-8A5LH shows Code 39 in Device Manager ("Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware"). I've run the hardware troubleshooter, SFC, and DISM. The drive works in BIOS and bootable USB Linux, so it's not dead.
Hi all,
It looks like you're looking for a or support thread topic regarding the driver for the PLDS DVD-RW DU-8A5LH (a common slim optical drive found in many laptops, especially older HP, Dell, and Lenovo models).
I need the driver for my PLDS DVD-RW DU-8A5LH drive. The PLDS (Philips & Lite-On Digital Solutions) website seems dead/redirects now. The laptop OEM (HP/Dell) site only lists BIOS and chipset drivers, nothing for the optical drive. driver plds dvd -rw du-8a5lh
Is there an official .inf driver anywhere, or is this drive 100% reliant on the generic Microsoft CD/DVD driver? The drive reads CDs but no longer burns DVDs – wondering if a driver/firmware update would help.
This fixed my DU-8A5LH after a bad Windows update. No external driver needed. Do I need a specific driver for PLDS
